Every girl needs a matte red lipstick in her life. Finding a formula that works for you and your bank balance is the tricky part. MAC's Ruby Woo is a cult classic and whilst will always be one of my favourite reds, is just far too drying.
L'Oreal, yet again, have out done themselves on this one. Following the success of their collection exclusive of famous nude's they have now launched the red collection. Featuring the beautiful Eva Longoria, Julianne Moore and Liya Kebede. But by far the star of the show is Blake Lively's Pure Red. A stunning, highly pigmented, orange toned red with a hydrating yet matte finish. Matte lipsticks which are still hydrating and easy to apply are few and far between and this one certainly doesn't disappoint. Its so smooth and creamy and thanks to the matte finish lasts for yonks. I ate and drank ALOT the first evening I wore this and it was still fixed in place. Very impressive. At only £6.99 it certainly doesn't break the bank and feels and acts more like a high end lipstick rather than drugstore.
